Sponsor Ferret

Ferret is an independent open source project focused on making data automation simpler, more expressive, and easier to maintain.

If Ferret has become part of your workflow, or your organization relies on it, sponsoring the project is one of the most direct ways to support its continued development.

Sponsorship helps fund the work that often goes unnoticed: implementing new features, fixing bugs, improving documentation, maintaining infrastructure, publishing releases, and investing time in the long-term quality of the language and ecosystem.

While sponsorship is never expected, it makes it easier to dedicate more time to the project and keep Ferret moving forward.

How to sponsor

You can support Ferret through GitHub Sponsors or OpenCollective. Both platforms support recurring sponsorships and one-time contributions.

For questions about sponsorship tiers, payment logistics, or custom arrangements, contact sponsorship@ferretlang.org.

Sponsoring Ferret as a business

If your organization relies on Ferret, sponsorship helps keep the project healthy and actively maintained while giving your company visibility within the Ferret community.

Organization sponsors may receive recognition on the Ferret website, project README, release notes, and other project materials according to their sponsorship tier.

Sponsoring Ferret as an individual

If Ferret has made your work easier, consider supporting the project as a sign of appreciation. Even a small recurring contribution helps sustain long-term development and maintenance.

What sponsorship means

Sponsorship supports the continued development and maintenance of Ferret.

It helps fund activities such as:

  • Designing and implementing new language features
  • Maintaining the runtime and standard library
  • Writing guides, tutorials, and reference documentation
  • Improving developer tooling
  • Fixing bugs and responding to issues
  • Maintaining project infrastructure and releases

Every contribution helps make the project more reliable and easier to use.

What sponsorship does not include

Ferret is developed in the best interests of the project and its community.

Sponsors are always welcome to share feedback, discuss their use cases, and suggest ideas for future development. Those conversations are valuable and help shape how Ferret evolves.

To preserve the project’s independence, sponsorship does not provide:

  • Ownership of the project or influence over technical governance
  • Guaranteed implementation of requested features
  • Exclusive access to unreleased functionality
  • Sponsored articles, product endorsements, or promotional content
  • Backlinks or search engine optimization (SEO) placements

Technical decisions continue to be made based on what is best for the project and its users.

Thank you for supporting Ferret.

Whether you contribute code, report bugs, improve documentation, answer questions, sponsor development, or simply use the project, you’re helping build a healthier open source ecosystem.
